FIRE COUGHLIN!

Even as of right now the Mets are still playing up and down baseball. Honestly, I don't think it matters to most met fans if this group of players manages to pull back into the playoff race. Speaking for myself and probably alot of other met fans, i look forward to the trade deadline and look forward to see our team jetison all of these over confident over-hyped players. This includes Beltran, O. Perez, Pedro, Brian Schneider, Heilman, Castillo, Delgado, Alou, Sanchez. I do believe its also time for the likes of Endy Chavez, Ramon Castro, Marlon Anderson to go. they were great, but one hit wonders are one hit wonders for a reason. Even Reyes is starting to play below his expectations. Trades: Delgado to AL for for low to midgrade prospects heck do it for a "player to be named" Castillo (along with paying half his contract) to contender in DESPERATE need of 2nd basemen. In return we get contributing young player (ruben gotay anyone?) Beltran: trade to contender for top line prospects O. Perez: trade to contender for midline to top line prospects Pedro: trade to contender for midline to top line prospects Alou: don't ever ever ever sign anyone over 35 again....TWICE Schneider: trade to contender in need of a catcher for low to mid grade prospects Anyone who complains about "well then who is going to play" give it a year. Position players: Wright, Reyes, Ryan Church (PCS withstanding), Fernando Martinez, and a number of young core postion players coming up. Pitchers: Johan, Maine, Pelfrey, Vargas, Wagner, Smith, young relievers on way up. its a good start to a more consistant future. Subscribe to this blog
